Handmade Converse Sneakers

Image
I got distracted by super heroes again. And Marvel's Ms. America (Chavez) was inspiring me. But when I figured out how to make those super cute shoes it was over. I think the doll with the darker hair looks more like the character, but the one with those flat feet is wearing those shoes. So my choice is made. *, *

$15 at The Family Dollar

Image
I went to see if they had any of the "Kenya"  dolls in this year. But my locale rarely gets the good stuff☺ But this set caught my eye a few weeks ago, and the price is right for 14 authentic Barbie items. 7 pairs of shoes, 3 purses, 2 necklaces and a pink headband. The dress is very basic, but perfect for showing my 9 year old granddaughter how to embellish and customize a wardrobe. 👡 The doll is stiff as a board, her knees don't even bend. So it's a good thing I didn't buy the set for her. It's the shoes! I LOVE the shoes😂 They are made of solid plastic that take paint well and are very fashionable. I'm looking forward to adding my own flare to them. *, *

Cute Quick Doll Crafts

Image
Since I've been off work with the flu or whatever creeping crud this is,  I've been laying on the sofa watching the cutest YOUTUBE videos.  So many creative people out there. So can you guess what the chicken legs are? Qtips. 😁 Quickest doll food I ever made. And the bottles out of pony beads are just too easy to pass up. Thx and Enjoy *, *

Quick Recycling Craft

Image
Made dress forms for paper rubes and the plastic inside the doll clothing I found at Family Dollar. Just a fun diversion while I've been down with the flu😷☺

Do you ever wondered...?

Image
Why there isn't more cake in the world^,^ I was inspired by The Mad Hatter's tea party. And it just showed me that I need more whimsy in my world. Work in progress...Thx *.*

Found this at Family Dollar for $5

Image
I decided to take a chance, since I'm always looking for doll shoes. And these pairs are pretty good. Made of solid, hard plastic;  so they should take paint and they fit perfectly.  The clothes are cheap and we lost a strap on the black one right out the box *,* but still worth my $5.

Had to spend another dollar =-D

This pattern has been out since "The Royal wedding". And I resisted it for many reasons. Then I read the back of the envelope and it contains three different sizes: Sm-10.5  Med-11.5 average Barbie size and Large-12.5. It includes leggings, a belt and scarf pattern. And if you go to Simplicity.com they have a section with doll clothing construction tips. I have stocked patterns for years and never even thought to read the back of a doll pattern. I probably still won't use it, but doll facts are Fun*,*

Let "Vixen " show you what we found *,*

A doll stand is from Hobby Lobby. It doesn't say what size it is, but it's the best scale I've found in a retail store and for just .98 cents after the 40% off coupon. As for the display unit, it was FREE. YEAH I love free=D  it's from the store where I work. Seasonal kids paintables were in there and since they got clearanced,  I get the box. It can display anything, in any setting. So I'm going to paint the cubbies white and use it all the time*,*

Another pattern *,*

I hope they reissue a "Ken" pattern. Now those are hard to find. Especially for a suit or a blazer.

My New Myscene boy

Image
I'm pretty sure this is River. He was $2,   wearing only blue pants. He was a little dirty, but he cleaned up like new and is the cute 5th member of my Myscene boy band.

New Chair 2

Image
I used the same pattern.  This time I used fleece to cover it. And it's so cozy, even my phone can relax and "recharge" =D. Hey, now that's comedy right there^,^

Warning =D

Image
Don't spend the day watching LPS videos on YouTube or you will want to raid the grandkids toy box ^,^ just so super cute! And my tiny collection looks great in my new chair *v*

New chair design

Image
Working on furniture had taught me a lot about myself =D  1 . don't be sloppy with the measurements, I don't like wobbly chairs. 2. I'm want it done NOW, but it's best to take your time. 3. Don't give up. 4. Stay creative, most "mistakes" can be saved ^,^ Ps- and always let the glue dry before you paint '!'0'

Finally at Big Lots

Image
They have a good variety of faces this year but a little pricey. Maybe they'll get the figure only. They were $8 each one year. Still a good find=D

I love when patterns are on sale for $1.99

Image
I will probably never use it, but my collection is growing =D

Making a very time consuming chair

Image
The red chair is the original I made last year. So I drafted a new pattern, thinking that parsons chairs would be useful for dining etc. But I must have totally put it out of my mind that each layer takes days to dry. Cute idea, but way too much for now😄 maybe I'll make just one for now😆

Have you ever seen this before?

At my local walmart, $4 each... wow

Totally Hair Teresa

Image
Also circa 1991/92-95. She was still wearing her blue jewelry , but her hair was in terrible shape. And I think the ball in inside her neck is broken, probably from trying to tame that hair. I used a wig brush, wig conditioning spray and good old fashioned JAM😄 I looks much better,  but I still think I'll braid it and decide once she's dressed what to do with it.

Original Little Mermaid Doll

Image
This doll was produced by Tyco in 1991/92. Before Disney released that merchandise is a gold mind.😄 She's a little under 10 inches tall. And her body reminds me of old school Skipper with a twist turn waist. She in really good condition.

Bag of babies for $2.49

Image
I grabbed this bag for the groovy mix of clothing. My grand daughter had too many  naked dolls😄 But then I discovered so much interesting treasure. First a wash and inspection for missing toes and bite marks😉

Princess Flash doll

Image
Just finished her for a very dear friend of the family, who loves princesses and The Flash. A unique combo that came out so cute☺

Shoe box rooms

Image
These were in storage. Made me smile to dig then out, had to share...again😄 Note to self: hot glue does not hold up well when exposed to heat (110° this time of year)and time (6 months in storage). So the store fixtures didn't survive. (Green stripped room).😢 The library (brown room) , bridal set, and cottage room all shared tables, chairs, books  etc. And thankfully still look in good shape. Thanks for checking in...nyw *,*

One of those crazy nights

Image
Having a migraine tends to make me a little antsy.  So I jump in my jeep and drive way to far to the only place open on a hot Sunday night...walmart.  I was hoping that walking around in the a/c would calm my brain, but it didn't.  So I "treated " myself to a Barbie pack for $2.44. For some reason the cat theme made me giggle, and I love the cat watch and the flats are extra cute☺

Here she is...
