The newest man in my life

Image
He's not the most recent KEN; shorter, tanner and more masculine in my opinion. Also not articulated.  As I made his new costume,  he started to look like John Smith from Pocahontas, but when I GOGGLED the images, he didn't match anything I found. I want to darken his hair, and give him a beard, for a more rugged exotic look.

My first "madi" w/straight hair. Don't you just love this face?

Found High School Musical Dolls @ the thrift

I don't collect them, I just wanted them for their clothing; fully dressed for $3-couldn't pass that up. Then when I got them home and was preparing to sanitize them, I noticed that they sing. At first I felt so ripped off, I didn't want these. And then I realized who they were, and GOOGLE confirmed- Gabriela and Tray: Breaking Free Duet dolls. She's missing a shoe, but they have on original clothing and his still have the factory stitch that holds his 3 piece outfit on. So maybe this will be my first try @ EBAY. They have to be worth something...right? I also got Chad and Sharpay(no picture). I saw a black man and freaked out:-) but he's short-10 1/2 in. so I will just find a new body for him...I guess. Everything I've read on the process has me a little weary of "ken head removable". That crazy neck seems to crack if you look at side ways ;-) and they both sing.

Funny things happen when you stand your dolls in the corner:-)

Just a random grouping of dolls that have been in this position for about 2 weeks w/o me noticing the narrative unfolding. I had to straighten up my little corner of the world , so I just stood some dolls along the wall. There are other dolls to the right of Jasmine, but these 4 just happened to be standing just like this.   Now I call it "BUSTED". *o*

P.S.-blogged this from my phone, still getting the hang of it *o*

No pictures...sorry:-(

I'm trying to learn how to blog from my phone while I travel, but this learning curve is kinda steep:-) Anyway, I finally saw the KENYA dolls in person in a FAMILY DOLLAR store on Leesburg rd, here in Columbia,SC. They were the minis, every complexion. So cute for just $5 each. I was hoping to find the adult males-I'll buy those if i find them. But at least now I know where to look and I can keep my eye out for them. The FD also had a nice selection of AA  BARBIE dolls for $5, The S.I.S dolls for $10, as well as FASHIONISTA dolls-also for $10. I was just a run in trip so I didn't purchase anything, but it was nice to see. In AZ finding of whole shelf of AA dolls is so rare it makes you kinda, shall we say, disappointed, and leave it at that. *.*
