Tip I just figured out

Image
I draw and collect fashion doll, well all doll, patterns really. But fashion doll pattern pieces can be so small than when i saw my table top accordion file, designed for coupons etc, it is perfect to organize all the pieces in one place and not use all my white envelopes. Plus I can see each set and label what it is. I keep the sheets in full size plastic sleeve until I cut it apart. *,* just thought I would share...especially since I really need to get these  dolls dressed and on my blog;and maybe share any of the cute patterns once I figure out how to do that on my phone. I miss my pc-soon:-)

Body comparison-nude

Clearanced @ Walmart

Image
just $7.00 "Steven" has a slightly broader body then the newer males so these clothes are just a little snug on him.He also has a smaller head and larger feet.

Thrift store find

Image
He was only $2 and in great shape. When I did a little searching to figure out his age, I came across the "i.luv.dolls.blogspot.com" blog post from April 16,2011, and they have a great photo chart of all of the "black"Kens. This one is a STEVEN from 1988. The weird eye paint and odd texture to his "rubber" feeling head match the picture. I'm so happy to add him to my growing collection and what a great Thrift fix when I was having one of those days.*o*

Trying once again to blog from my phone

Image
My pc was compromised, so you know how that goes.

Since COMIC CON has inspired me this weekend ...

Image
My inspiration...WONDER WOMAN & VIXEN in front of a JUSTICE LEAGUE  poster Of course, I took a few liberties. But the inspiration is there...so I might have to rename them*-* I had to cut her long hair, but it so makes the character. She wasn't a "super hero" I was familiar with, but I wanted an African American woman to go w/Wonder Woman and Vixen just jumped out at me from the see of other female and Black males who have been in the comics, but are seldom seen in the main stream. There is a lot of info on Vixen @ Wiki so check it out.*.* Publication history   [ edit ] Vixen was one of the first  African American  female DC superheroes to star in her own series, but the first issue of her series was canceled in the  DC Implosion in 1978, never to be released. The story was subsequently printed in  Cancelled Comic Cavalcade . Since her debut in  Action Comics,  she has primarily appeared in team books, most notably various i...

Found this guy for $1.99

Image
Prince Aidan from " The Magic of Pegasus " Barbie series. circa 2005 He also came if African American, wish I could find him in a thrift store:-) saw him ( the AA) on ebay NIB for $45.00 yikes*o* Face comparison. I like his turned up nose:-) fully articulated, his joints are really loose and his face was very dirt, at least some one had played w/him before he ended up in the thrift store  wearing only his jacket;-)

Still searching for doll stands

Image
This was was on clearance @ MICHAEL'S for $1.99. It has a nice wooded base and says it is for 11 inch dolls. Good scale, bad fit...but usable I bought this one a few years ago because the metal part seemed small enough. But is way too short.. She can stand w/it around her legs, especially if she wears a longer dress. Then you can't tell how small the stand is.
