I recently visited my family in Ohio and saw "The Sister Quilt" on a twin size bed. It was kinda good, if I do say so myself. It fit the decor of the room...various animal prints; and it was being used-as I hope all of my quilts are, being used in some form or another. Usually I'm very critical my own work, but this time really kinda dig it:-)
Finally some feedback on my "back to school" doll emsemble:-)

It's a fleece poncho, straight leg jeans and brown boots.w/ the little white tunic blouse i made for winter. The jeans are so cute, w/pink top-stitching; but the leg is very narrow and will need "adult assistance" to get them on and not break your baby:-) But that's the only way for them to be narrow enough to go into the darling boots. I was thinking of making a "gaucho" pant to show off the boot and still be kid friendly as far as getting them on and off.

3 pairs of p.j.'s for the grand babies
anniversary trivets. these were originally suppose to be a quilt, but they didn't quite work out. but they make cute trivets.
Well I gave up my cable and along w/it my broadcast channels since my tv predates the "digital" age...and boy is it quiet around here. I'm just starting to feel creative and this is what I've done so far,

I'm trying to come up w/new ideas for doll clothes...as if my "babies" were going to school. But I want something modern, and cute and spunky. I also have two quilts to work on, but the "quilt" juice isn't flowing yet...so I want to do something fun. :-) Here is a long tote that can be used for carrying the 18in doll. It's best suited for an adult to carry...I guess that's what we're here for. The doll does fit down inside, with plenty of room for her accessories *.*

I drew the profiles several years ago for a wall hanging, so i just enlarged them by about 150%. The leaves are a beautiful fabric scrap that my sister brought back from her travels in Ghana; so they were a nice touch. My mom contributed from her stash and I had some suitable prints as well. So I purchased only 1 yard of addition fabric, just to add some color to the back. these are not the best pictures. and i still needed to press it and get the label on it (my mom commissioned it for her baby sister). but they both seemed to love it, so i'm happy w/that.

I actually got 3 made for this one order. Just sweet little baby quilts made out of flannel. All different and one of a kind, just like the babies that I hope are one day wrapped with-in them. If I don't sell these, I'll donate them to charity.*.* I was thinking, if I didn't purchase any fabric-that isn't going to happen:-) - but if i didn't, I could still make some kind of quilt every month for at least a year. That used to be a goal of mines, to be creative everyday. Then life took up a little more of my time than I anticipated. But that's o.k., that what life tends to do.
And we have a new friend...

I found her in the the AVON catalog at a clearance price. I think because she is from last season.-notice the winter clothing and the oh,so cute boots.. Also they had a really cute doll carrier marked down. It holds 1 18in doll, w/pockets for her accessories and a cute little shoulder strap. It's made out of pink plastic, w/a clear front so that you can see the doll. Most of the others that I've seen remind me of coffins or giant shoe boxes. As you can see the AVON doll is slightly smaller, and- to me - has a plainer face, but that's o.k. We just needed to add some variety to the mix.:-) She also needs a name. Any suggestions?
