Taking inventory

Image
19 Madisons, 32 My Scene dolls total. The new one is missing, she's becoming "Poison Ivy"😄

Say hello to Kenzi and her friend

Image
Both for just $4, and he's fully dressed. Yes he has on shoes😄 But I'm not sure of his name since his hair is kind of blonde. Sutton or Bryant is my guess. She's in excellent condition, and my first one. Love the freckles😀

This kitchen is taking forever

Image
Maya says "maybe I'll just leave the wall paper up. My granny loved it so".

Found this a while ago

Image
This is a 2 sided kitchen I found for .99 a few months ago. Even though it is a Mattel item, the scale was off. She's taller that the refrigerator. I even did a Google search and most of the mass produced kitchens are a little off in scale. Easy to fix, put it on a base. Just used that lid to see how high it needs to be and to start on the cabinets. Never say never😄

Working on kitchen things

Image
First off, let me say a big "THANK YOU "to those of you who still view and comment on my blog.  This little thing is limping along, and your kind words make it worth it. Sincerely. .. thank you😊 Next- I'm trying to recycle as much as possible and use what I have on hand. This clear egg carton has so many uses, these are my first two: salad and fruit bowls.

Dollar Tree finds

Image
Well, Dollar Tree says it all. The quality is not great, but there are some things I can use. 1. The doll outfit is poorly made and very small. The sleeve started to tear off as I  tried to put my petite Jasmine princess into it. Maybe a Bratz or MH might fit. The shoes and purse work and can be painted. 2. The table, chairs and accessories are all a strange scale , but repainted they will work for Kelly in the nursery. 3. The doll with the table set is very poor quality. Bald in the center wearing a dress practically made of paper.  But as a mannequin she might work. And on a positive note, with a little effort Kelly can fit the shoes. 4. The plastic insert that displayed the dress is going to look great as a dressform. $2  I'm not mad I spent☺. Thx again 💕

What if Madison attended the MET Gala

Image
Illusion mesh seemed to be the theme of the night. I think it was Chinese Art, so that's why she's standing in front of the art. I  had to use what was on hand. So I tea dyed white organza and "tried" to strategic place the glitter. She looks pretty good ☺

LIV wigs and crafty wig stands

Image
These are a few of my LIV dolls wearing wigs I found at various thrift stores, during what I now refer to as my doll years. 7 wigs so far. And 2 wig heads made from small plastic eggs that are not finished yet ;maybe I'll paint them - still undecided . The yellow one is just an egg, but the wig still looks good on it. The small form is from a MH set and looks great on a shelf but is too small to hold such big wigs😄

Quick question

Image
Has anyone "successfully " dyed a wig with Kool aid?  I think she really needs red hair but I'm scared to take the dip. Any and all tips are welcome. Thx again 💕

I'm still here

Image
Found her at the thrift, on my way to work today. What a beauty,  fully dressed with shoes. I don't have a Liv doll with red painted hair and brown skin. Best $2 I spent today 😄

My first try for a recycled paper bottle

Image
The scale is off for a wine bottle,  but for a beer or single serving of any libation, it might work. It was easy to make with a two paper tube of different heights and widths and then covered with tissue to smooth it out and refine the shape.

First try at shoes

Image
Madison likes her new outfit. The shoes are made out of cardboard,  foil ,paper and yarn. They came out bigger then I planned , but if I try I again ,I have a better idea of how to work on such a small shoe.

I think her face came out pretty good.

Image
Had to save her right eye and both of her eyebrows. Her lips are my favorite. I love the effect of soft pastels. Even an amateur like myself can get a nice result😊

Doll Dilemma

Image
Both of these beauties fell into the hand of the "glitter monster" before I rescued them from the thrift. Now my problem is how to get it off their eyes without ruining the eye paint. Especially Madison. Her face is perfect except for the glitter addition.  I was thinking of masking tape ,but once again ,I don't want to peel off her eyes.  SO...ANY SUGGESTIONS? Any and all appreciated. Thx 😃

At my local "TARGET" Store

Image
this is my first time finding these, so cute. I'm going on vacation for a few days and when I get back, get some money, and time to shop, I'm going to treat myself to a couple of the little girls. Moxie has such adorable  faces *,*

Transition Time *,*

Image
Well for the the 6th time in the 12 years that I've lived in AZ, I'm on the move. Time for a new address, for so many reasons...but I'm also breaking in a new phone. My old phone was 3 years old and on it's last leg. I loved that little phone, but the future waits for no "grandma" :-D Any way...I don't know how to blog on my new phone-yet. I found a little pack of " BARBIE " accessories @ Walmart for $2.44. a pair of shoes, pair of sandals-turquoise, they need paint, but cute; a purse and jewelry. I don't have pictures. but I can't wait to get up and running again and show off my finds. See ya next year...Let's all have a fantastic 2015! Thanks for hanging in there w/me *,* nyw I don't own this drawing, and hope the artist doesn't mind if I use it, cause I love it .

Four MY SCENE DOLLS

Image
All dressed, but not shoes. Their hair needs to be restyled, but that is to be expected. New to my collection is the "tan" blonde. Her hair sandy blonde/light brown and she has much softer makeup than my platinum blondes ones and her skin is also light brown.

Beautiful, unique face

Image
She is obviously the Egyptian Barbie. Her hair is crimped, to look like braids. But that face was worth $3. :-)  Uniquely lovely.

Check out what I found...and had to leave @ the thrift store today:-(

Image
A whole tribe of BRATZ dolls. Oh my...I don't even collect them. But seeing so many, fully dressed- shoes/feet and all. And look at her ice skates...I had to call my daughter for the strength to just walk away. Had to take this picture so that I could share my sorrow- I know boo whoo but you have to admit the boys are cute. Just not in the budget right now. Especially since I do collect MY SCENE dolls, and I found three more "Madisons" and a new face I don't know. (Pictures up soon). I love the thrift store...sometimes*,*

Don't you just love a "vintage" pattern?

Image
Vintage inspired reprint, anyway. Super cute jumpsuit:-)
