Episode #5- First Try

Image
Her face repaint came out really nice, but this dress would have made "NINA" question my talent and my taste level:-D

Episode #5 -The Klum Doom

Image
so happy I took that "Mood" do over:-) the first dress was not right. I didn't even finish it, but when I do...I'll share it. This is a nice , simple red carpet look-once again safe:-D The top 3 looks were FaBuLous, so I'm happy w/this one.

Finally...Episode #4 Men's suit to High Fashion

Image
I made this little dude a suit a few months ago and all I had left was the fabric from his tie. So she got a cute little romper and a hat box purse...maybe I'll have to use the "Tim Gunn Save" this time *,*

Well now we hit a snag...

Episode #4 used a man's polyester suit, to make something High Fashion, sponsored by Red Robin Restaurant. So, anyway, I don't have any kind of suit to cut up, and I'm not really a designer-I'm just a crafter who likes to dress my fashion dolls. But I do have a very eclectic fabric stash, and I might be able to find some funky polyester. It seems like the designers all "tried" to made something wearable, so I can't treat it Avant Garde. Looks like I'll be watching it again on HULU:-D Well, that makes my goal just to get something that closely fits the challenge, made before next Thursday's episode*,* Got to get my wheels turning.

Episode #3 Marie Claire-20 years in the future, inspired by the past 1994

Image
Since fashion goes in a circle, and the nineties seemed like whatever goes, DO YOU :-) So, to me, in the future, fashion would be light and free and full of self expression. One piece jumpsuit, painted details and BIG hair . Once again...I think ...safe*,*

Episode 2-Unconventional Challenge @ the Movies

Image
Had to be something associated w/making or viewing movies, so I used a paper cup, a paper plate and yarn...random and unconventional:-D once again I think I would be safe.

Episode 1 Spring Look

Image
I guess a see through dress is ok for spring:-) I know it's not a winner, but i'd be safe*,*

So here's a thought...

Maybe I'll use Project Runway Season 13 as my inspiration. I'm already 4 episodes late, but maybe dress a doll for each challenge, following the rules of the challenge as closely as possible, using things a I already have on hand. And each garment being a new design...nothing I've already made or started.  Besides 2 of these ep. they didn't go to mood:-) So I'll post my first "garment tomorrow-Future Spring Line. I think I'm excited*,* My goal is to catch up to the show and stay on point after that. I think there are only 13 ep. so how hard could that be? I only have a life and a job and grandkids:-D But this might just be FUN...we all need some FUN in our lives!!!

Finally a "Thrift Fix" and hopefully some inspiration

Image
MyScene Madison-articulated arms and legs-I have never seen that before. Also Chelsea with articulated legs, super cute auburn hair W/blonde highlights. And a "Bratz" doll w/no feet:-( Just what do you do w/a Bratz doll. Maybe she'll be my first try at a "rebody". I'm a big chicken and would hate to ruin the necks. But the face is probably real easy to repaint...large, round, hard plastic :-D Close up of faces and bodies. MyScene is my absolute favorite. Followed closely by the LIV doll...love that pretty bald head*,*

Not for dolls...but...still super cute

http://www.poppyseedbabyessentials.com/ handmade cloth diapers and accessories :-D

GUESS WHAT?

Image
finally sold a doll-$25 now i'm digging in my storage for others that never quite found their place on the crew:-D
None of these video are made by me...sorry just not that talented yet:-D So many people, do so many different things...so that's why I like to share. Thx again nyw *,*
Since my creative tank is a few quarts low right now, I've been looking for inspiration on YOU TUBE. I really love to see all the creative things people do out there in the dolly world. I hope you enjoy the vids I share as much as I do. Thank again...nyw*,*

Ready for the hunt

Image
Once i discovered that my cute little girl is actually from the "WE 3 Friends" line from, 2004,I took a closer look at her and decided to keep her as a "Goldilocks" character. Then my migraine riddled brain had a strange thought; what if she was hunting those poor bears:-/ i know yikes...a little too dark for my taste-usually-but it still gave me a giggle. so then, I thought what if she wanted to capture them alive, at that point I realized my thoughts had unraveled and derailed.  So no bears for her. But thx to "my froggy stuff" for the bow and arrow tute. from 2012. "Golden Lox" was born. *,*

Madison full face repaints

Image
Almost all of my "Madi's" have new lips...that lip liner is just too much. But these are the only full faces.

Madi #13 has a new look :-)

Image
cut and spiked her hair with white glue, painted her face...need to improve the lips; but cute *,*

Thrift finds

Image
Madison #13 and LIV doll #5,fully dress, except for no shoes:-D also misc monster high doll salon pieces and a random little girl doll, I think it was sleep over friends or something like that. My daughter had a bunch of these when she was little. And the heart shaped box they're sitting on, just as a prop. They all are about be take the big dunk and get cleaned and disinfected. Madison will be restyled and dressed, no plans for the rest of it yet. My creative tank has been a little low lately, so I might just pack it up for a little while and pursue other interest...ie quilting or painting. No biggie; that's how creativity flows, sometimes east and sometimes west. Ya gotta go w/ the flow*,* have fun and enjoy, nyw.

Well at least I tried

Supplies Pattern to I used-Simplicity 4702 first published in 2004 The result:-) First let me say that I like "owning"  patterns, of all kinds...especially when they are on sale for .99. But I hate using mass produced patterns.I will use one when absolutely necessary, but I ,for the most part draft or adapt my own. the rare exception being 18in doll clothes. those are so big and easy and I make them to be given as gifts, so I try to do as "professional" job as I can. Hey you don't want it fall apart just because a wild child decides to put it on her puppy instead:-) Anyway, I got the bright idea to make every outfit in this pattern...cra-cra-. I knew I would hate it, but I thought I would stretch myself, try something different;maybe I didn't "really" hate it...OH BUT I DO!!!! The pieces are microscopic; the instructions vague, at best.;the styles out dated and now my floor is covered in scraps of my frustration. Makes me wish I...

The gift of a pocket:-)

Image
Now she fits right in,  pretty in pink w/a perfect pocket for her missing hand*,* Great weather to be out with friends:-D
